Talent Show: Friday, February 28

We are very excited to feature our talented students this Friday at this annual SoFun event!  Thank you to parent volunteers Johanna Weaver and Melissa Venton and thier team of volunteers for making it happen! Thanks also to the Tech Team at school for helping set-up equipment.

Performance Schedule:

  • Grades 1-3 will perform in the gym starting at 9:30 am
  • Grades 4-8 will perform in the gym starting at 10:30 am

Students not performing make up the audience.  Parents of participants are also welcome to watch but please remember you MUST sign-in at the office before proceeding to the gym.  There is a lot of snow forecast for Friday so if you drive, be sure to park in a legal spot to avoid causing traffic congestion or impacting snow clearing.  Thank you!  Any questions regarding your child’s participation, please contact Melissa.

Join a Parent Council Committee

Parent Council determines which committees are needed each year.  These sub-committees are the “working groups” of our school council, the potential of which is limited only by your energy and enthusiasm. With a recently expanded roster of committees, to meet the diverse interests and talents of our school community, we hope you will find something that catches your eye!

Please join us in enriching our children’s educational experience at Humbercrest Public School.  CLICK HERE to sign-up for a committee!

DROP-ZONE Volunteers Needed!

Drop-Zone is a Parent Council initiative intended to provide parents with a quick and safe way to drop their kids off at school each day.  One volunteer and one staff are on duty on Watson Ave to help kids out of your vehicles and into the supervised schoolyard from 8:45-9:00 am.

Thank you to those parents who have already signed up!!   But we need need VOLUNTEERS every day! Please consider donating 20 minutes of your morning!  Volunteering once or twice a month goes a long way in helping keep our students safe!

Safety on the Streets

The Toronto Police Service is committed to working in partnership with schools, parents, and neighbourhoods to ensure the safety of children as they return to school.  CLICK HERE to find a document which includes useful information about how to keep school zones safe. We encourage you to share this information with your school community.

If you have a parking or traffic complaint, you can make a report through the Toronto Police Service website, www.torontopolice.on.ca.  Click on “Services” tab from the drop down box click on “Citizen Online Report Entry” and scroll down and click on “Driving Complaint” or “Immediate Parking Complaint” and report.

We are also proving a letter explaining the changes to the The School Crossing Guard Program which take effect this month.
