Spring Yard Clean-up Day: Saturday, May 12

THIS SATURDAY, MAY 12 is SPRING YARD DAY at Humbercrest Public School!

From 9:00 am to 12:00 noon we will be cleaning our school’s yard. If possible, please bring your own tools… rakes, trowels, gloves, water bottles and coffee mugs. We will have hot coffee for all volunteers.

NEW THIS YEAR: Craft table for the young ones and a perennial plant exchange. Please join us for some family fun times in the our school’s yard!

No RSVP required – please just show up – even for a portion of the morning!  Bring the kids!  Questions?  Contact Georgina.

DONATIONS TO THE KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM

As you embark on Spring Cleaning, please consider donating any of these items your children may have outgrown:

  • tricycles, 3-wheeled scooters or small bicycles with training wheels that are big enough for JK/SK children and in good working condition (please do not bring items that require wearing a helmet i.e. two-wheelers)
  • sand toys (with no broken edges)
  • trucks and cars for outdoor play
  • plastic kitchen sets or tool stations that can be left outside
  • skipping ropes
  • hula hoops
  • sidewalk chalk

Smaller items can be sent to school with your child and given to any of the Kindergarten staff or taken to Mme Hamara’s Room 1.

For larger items, bring them at drop-off and leave either in front yard or backyard by kindergarten entrance (under overhang).

Humbercrest Hoppers and The Hoop Troop

On Thursday, April 26, our Hoppers and Hoop Troop will be putting on two shows for parents and Humbercrest families!

The same show will be at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the Main Gym.  The shows will be 30-45 minutes in length.  Everyone is welcome! There will be limited seating.  The doors and Snack Stand will open 30 minutes before showtime.

PIZZA AVAILABLE BEFORE THE SHOW!
No time to eat dinner before the show? The SoFun Committee will be running a snack stand before the show and we will have pizza for sale at $2 a slice! All proceeds will be split between the Hoppers in support of thr fundraising drive for Heart & Stroke, and the Hoop Troop so they can purchase some much needed new equipment.

Parent Council, SO FUN & Home Alone Seminar: Wednesday, April 4

A quick reminder about some important events coming up on Wednesday, April 4:

The SO FUN committee will meet in the library at 5:30 PM. Interested in volunteering to help with our many fundraising and event activities? Members old and new are welcome!

Following SO FUN, Parent Council will meet in the library starting at 6:30 PM. Don’t forget, babysitting is provided for your convenience.

Lastly, the Home Alone Seminar takes place from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. If you’re interested in attending, please register with Heather Sinclair.
