Pancake Breakfast – Thursday, December 21

SoFun will again this year, be hosting our annual FREE Pancake Breakfast. Children will enjoy pancakes and syrup, juice/water, and fresh fruit. While eating in the senior lunchroom, they will also sing festive songs and receive a loot bag! Please send your child to school with their own utensils, a plate and cup in a plastic bag.

EVENT UPDATE: Earlier this month there was some discussion that the Allergy Committee was responsible for changes/cancellation of this event. This is NOT the case. The school’s intention is to promote a more inclusive event given our diverse cultural population.  As a result, we will enjoy the spirit of the holidays in many different ways this year, and we’re leaving Santa to his work at the North Pole.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – We need LOTS of parents/caregivers to help cut pancakes, pour syrup and juice, etc. If you can help, please click here to e-mail SoFun TODAY!  NOTE: Your kids do not have to be in the primary division to volunteer!!!

From your Allergy Committee:  The Allergy Committee has worked closely with SoFun to ensure a nut-safe/allergy aware environment for all of our students. The pancake mix used for this event is Aunt Jemima and we are in the process of sourcing a nut-safe maple syrup. That being said, with an event of this scale the possibility of cross-contamination always exists. For those families who suffer from anaphylaxis or have other sensitivities feel free to send your own pancakes or breakfast alternative. You are also welcome to join your child at the breakfast!

Humbercrest Book Fair

The annual Scholastic Bookfair, in support of Humbercrest’s Library, will be happening from December 3 to December 7, 2017. In order to put on this popular event, we need the support of our enthusiastic parent volunteers, especially at lunch time!

If you would like to volunteer for the Bookfair, Mme Raymond will be holding a brief info session for Potential Parent Volunteers on Wednesday, November 15 at 3:30 in the Library.

If you can’t make the Info Session but would like to volunteer anyway, please email Mme Raymond directly at [email protected].
